Clinical Efficacy
Zinc Carnosine in Oral Stomatitis
  • Randomised controlled study, studying effect of Zinc L-Carnosine on radiochemotherapy-induced oral mucositis, pain, xerostomia and taste disturbance in patients with head and neck cancer.
  • Zinc Carnosine reduced the risk of oral mucositis by 90.6%.
  • The incidence rates of mucositis, pain, xerostomia and taste disturbance were all markedly lower in Zinc Carnosine group than in control.
  • Use of analgesics was significantly (p < 0.003) less frequent and the amount of food intake was significantly (p < 0.002) higher in Zinc Carnosine group than control.
Zinc Carnosine in Gingivostomatitis
  • High effectiveness of Zinc Carnosine suspension local application was demonstrated in patients with severe gingivostomatitis.
  • Zinc Carnosine – sodium alginate as a specific treatment for severe gingivostomatitis was administered to 15 patients who had developed inflammation while on chemotherapy.
  • Very high utility of the application was demonstrated and the response was classified as excellent in 10 patients and good in 5 patients.
  • The mechanism of the beneficial effect of Zinc Carnosine in treatment of severe gingivostomatitis and ulcers was considered to involve the mucosal protective effect, free radical scavenging activity and tissue repair promoting action of Zinc Carnosine.
Direction for Use

Take a quantity sufficient enough to coat the ulcers and spread it uniformly over the affected sites. The administration can be repeated 3 or 4 times daily or as directed by the Physician.

Possible side efffects

The Zinc Carnosine in ZINOBLISS has no known side effects and is well tolerated and no Zinc accumulation is noted following repeated administration. The Lignocaine in ZINOBLISS may cause temporary redness, stinging and swelling at the application site. If these side effects persist or worsen, discontinue use and notify your physician.

Are there any side effects of Zinobliss gel?

Zinc carnosine in Zinobliss has no known side effects. In rare cases, the lignocaine in Zinobliss may cause temporary redness, stinging or swelling in which cases the treatment should be discontinued and your physician should be notified.

Is there any published clinical trial on Zinc Carnosine in oral mucositis and Chemo and radio therapy induced ulcer?

Yes, Clinical trial was conducted on 32 patients with head and neck cancer who underwent radiotherapy and Zinc Carnosine was found highly effective in reducing the incidence of Mucositis , pain , xerostomia and taste disturbance due to radio and chemotherapy. The said clinical trial was published in International Journal of Cancer in 2010.

Is there any chance of destroying of Zinc Carnosine in buccal cavity?

No, Zinc Carnosine in Zinobliss does not destroy in the buccal cavity due to its chelation.

Can Zinc carnosine wash out after application at ulcer site due to secretion of saliva in the buccal cavity?

Due to its Polymeric character, Zinc Carnosine does not dissociate from the ulcer site rather it sticks to the ulcer site for a longer period of time thus helps in faster healing of ulcer.
